About Carlyn N Ellison
Carlyn Ellison, MPH, CPH is a Ph.D. candidate in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Florida and a National Institute of Health (NIH)/National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) predoctoral fellow. At the University of Florida, Ellison completed her bachelor’s degree in health science in 2017 and her Master of Public Health in 2018. As a graduate research assistant, she collaborated with and managed large, interdisciplinary research teams while assisting with two funded projects totaling more than 2.3 million dollars. Her research interests involve how to optimize the home environment to ensure safety and independence among older adults, and her current work aims to investigate how relationships with companion animals may influence health and well-being while aging-in-place. She is a member of the American Public Health Association and president of the Beta Upsilon Chapter of Delta Omega at the University of Florida.
